Our Strategy

To create relevant environments which equip and encourage attendees to grow in four vital pursuits:

           1.  Intimacy with God

           2.  Community with Believers

           3.  Influence with Outsiders

           4.  Surrender of Self

   We believe that the most effective environment for a person to grow in these pursuits is a small group.  A small group environment consists of 6-12 individuals who covenant together to consistently meet for a specific length of time (6-8 weeks, 1 year, 18 months or 2 years) to “do life together.”  Our mission, goal and highest achievement is to help people connect within a small group environment.

   To assist people in connecting to a small group environment we are invested in the creation of other environments that lead in that direction.  The three environments which we use to help guide people into greater levels of connection are best described if you think of a baseball stadium:

1.  Stadium

Most people do not go to a baseball game, walk directly to the field, step in the batters box and begin the game.  Getting in the game when it comes to following Christ is the same way.  The first environment we want to create is the STADIUM environment where people can come, sit in the stands and begin to discover this thing called Christianity.  Stadium environments are OPEN environments where we expect guests and plan for them.  A great example of a Stadium environment is our Sunday morning services.

2.  Dugout

After spending some time in the stands and being challenged to get in the game, we encourage people to move to our DUGOUT environments.   These are typically smaller than the Stadium environments and are designed to help people begin to make connections with others on a similar faith/life journey.  These are TARGETED environments.  Some of the Dugout environments, like upcoming Group Link events will help people connect into a short term small group called a Starter Group.  Other Dugout environments will give people a taste of small groups without actually being a small group environment.

3.  Field

This is where the game is really played and where we expect the greatest growth to occur in the life of a Christ follower.  This is the description we have given to our SMALL GROUP environment, which is a CLOSED environment.  A small group is where a person connects and covenants with 6-12 other individuals to do life together for a specific amount of time.  The goal here is to grow deep, relationally with those in the small group so that each small group member has a hand in helping encourage and foster greater levels of devotion to Christ.  This is where REAL friendships are formed:

R – Regular (These friends meet regularly)

E – Essential (These friends consider their relationships w/ each other essential)

A – Authentic (These friends are authentic in their relationship w/ each other)

L – Loving (These friends are defined by their growing love for each other)

It is on the field and in REAL relationships with others that we feel we are doing our best to equip individuals to grow in the 4 vital pursuits listed above.
